Ines Papert and Lisi Steurer free Schwarze Madonna 8a+
Bit late info but definitely worth posting anyway. On October 6th, well-known German climber Ines Papert together with Lisi Steurer freed Schwarze Madonna located on Papert's home mountain Untersberg, Germany. The route consists of six pitches graded as follows: 8a+, 7a, 6c, 7b+, 7c, 6a, and is currently the hardest line of the wall offering “absolutely sensational climbing on compact limestone”.

That wasn’t the German’s first attempt to free the route as she tried to do that previously, together with Stefan Rass. Back then, they managed to send all the pitches but the first one which seemed a little bit too difficult at that time. This year’s Fall Ines took part in the expedition to Baffin Island and after coming back to Europe she decided to face Schwarze Madonna once again, this time with a success.
