The Wheel of Life reapeted by Ethan Pringle
American Ethan Pringle, 24, has done the 3rd ascent of Dai Koyamada’s The Wheel Of Life at the Hollow Mountain Cave in the Grampians, Australia. He spent 4 days of work and commented: "Finally sent something! This humidity is killing us. Sent first try from start after doing Sleepy Rave. Clmbed it like a route, kneepad (under the pants) and all. Used tall person beta on the Dead Cant Dance crux. Took three days of effort."
The Wheel of Life was graded 8C+/V16 after the FA, however Pringle registered it as a 9a/5.14d route climb which makes sense since the problem is a massively long 60+ move linkup of several problems in the V9-V12 range.
ClimbingNarc noticed that: "This ascent is especially notable in that Pringle has been recovering from a shoulder injury suffered during 2009 ABS Nationals and is just getting back into form. Looks like he is on the right track."
It looks that Ethan, after recovery, is on good way to do more hard climbs, especially that he posted on his blog: "I’m taking the fall off of school so I will have much less stress and more time to (...) climb!" ;)
