The flagship of the Arc’teryx Winter 08 Ascent line is the new Fission SL Jacket. Weighing only 614 grams, this jacket is made of the most innovative materials available, offering an exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio. It is a first that non-quilted ThermaTek™ insulation ist combined with the best shell material: GORE-TEX® Pro Shell. ThermaTek™ is a DWR saturated, hollow-core, continuous filament fibre insulation bonded to a DWR treated 30d high tenacity face fabric. Hence ThermaTek™ is highly hydrophobic, exceptionally warm and compressible without losing its loft. The 2-layer GORE-TEX® Pro Shell material offers great wicking capacities and pit zips add extra ventilation.
