Alex Huber opens Pan Aroma 8c

Alex Huber, accompanied by  Max Reichel and Franz Hinterbrandner, completed the first ascent of a new route on Cima Ovest di Lavadero in the Dolomites. Pan Aroma has been graded 8c and leads through the first 5 pitches of Bellavista, route done by Huber back in 2001, and then turns right towards the 40m overhang.

Huber was working the route already at the beginning of June, together with Martin Kofsguter. Finally he completed Pan Aroma on July 26. The German described the line as “one of the most impressing climbing formations in  the world”.

Pan Aroma 8c: 7b, 6c, 6a+, 6c+, 7a+, 8b+ (60m, 7 bolts), 8c (20m, 4 bolts), 6c, 6c+ and finish via Cassin route.
