Bard Boulder Contest 2008

An exciting event for all lovers of bouldering

From Friday 18 to Sunday 20 April 2008, and making its debut in the world of international bouldering gatherings, is the first Bard Boulder Contest. The Bard Boulder Contest will take place in both natural and artificial environments and is available to all those passionate about climbing, beginners and not, with the aim of improving the rock climbing, nature and cultural resources of the Aosta Valley region.

The event promoters are ‘Topo Pazzo’ sports club, the shop ‘Paretone’ and the company, Cassin S.r.l., in co-operation with the Regional Department of Tourism and Sports of Autonomous Aosta Valley region, the Bard’s Fort association and the city of Arnad.

The venues for this important event will be two different climbing areas. The first one is natural and is called the ‘Cube’ overlooking the bouldering area and the nearby Bard’s Fort, the majestic nineteenth century fortress that dominates the entrance of the Lower Aosta Valley.
This prestigious building houses the ‘Museum of the Alps’ and the artificial climbing wall will be situated in the barrack square for the great duel between the finalists of the event.
