Fred Nicole on Amandla 8C, ROCKLANDS

It seems that your last ascents were not much publicized comparing to your achievements in the past. For example, there isn't almost any information on the web or in climbing magazines about Entlinge. Is it a kind of your protest against negative sides of the popularity of bouldering (like chipping holds)?Maybe it's true that I publicized less but I climbed even more. You know it's sometimes hard to be certain about difficulty and grading. Constant polemics about every new problem made me tired. Maybe it is a kind of a silent protest… Nevertheless some information about my last realizations got to a few media (Terre de Sienne and El Techo de los tres B, maybe 8c's in Hueco or Entlinge in the German "Klettern").
Isn't it a problem for your sponsors when climbing mags aren't full of news about your last climbs anymore?
Luckily my sponsors support me for my way of life and not my performances. I would not feel respectful of my climbing or of my sponsors if I had to do things just for publicity!
Did you leave any serious projects in Rocklands open or will you have to look for something new when you go back there?
I have many things in mind but no special open projects. Anyway, this is something in life that you can't change. The more you see and the more you try - the more open projects you get!
