Nomad switches to sustainable production

We can't ignore it any longer. The climate is changing and we have to change as well. Therefore, starting with its 2008 summer collection Nomad, the Dutch outdoor brand, will make a start with the sustainable production of a part of its clothing collection. The manufacture of these sustainable styles comes about in cooperation with MADE-BY, a Dutch organization which dedicates itself to increasing the market for sustain ably produced clothing.

Barry Kooijmans, Nomad director: For an outdoor brand like Nomad manufacturing in a responsible fashion is a logical choice. After all, as a traveller you have a responsibility for the nature and culture around you. We are making changes to our manufacturing processes in cooperation with MADE-BY. MADE-BY is the correct partner for Nomad and possesses all the expertise to adjust the necessary processes and clean-up the production chain.

MADE-BY supports Nomad in switching to sustainable production. Together with MADE-BY, the entire production chain and the materials which are used have been critically examined. The first step is the use of biologically cultivated cotton in the clothing collection. Furthermore the production of this clothing has been contracted to factories with working conditions which meet the internationally recognized standards. The blue button sewn in or attached to the piece of clothing is the symbol that the production satisfies the MADE-BY guidelines.
