Guidebooks, maps:
All in all, there are more than 200 icefalls and many alpine winter routes to choose from. There are three guidebooks that cover ice climbing in Slovenia,:
"Ledni vzponi" by Grega Kresal, covering the Julian Alps,
"Logarska dolina, Vol. 1 and 2 " by Tone Golnar, covering the Logarska Valley and
"Sinji trakovi" by Simon Slejko, covering Jezersko and the Logarska Valley. 

The Alpine Association of Slovenia (PZS) has issued several topographic maps, based on the national topographic map 1:25000 and 1: 50000 series. The most useful are: "Mangart in Jalovec", 1: 25000, 2005; "Triglav", 1: 25000, 1996; "Julijske Alpe - zahodni del", 1:50000, 2003; "Kamniške in Savinjske Alpe", 1:50000, 2002

Regulations:
Many climbs in the Julian Alps area are located within the boundaries of the Triglav National Park. Therefore, any activity there should comply with the park rules, the most obvious of which are: no camping out, no driving on restricted roads, no open campfires and so on.

Accommodation:
The Vršič Pass is a very convenient place to stay and set off for climbing on either side of the pass. The mountain huts there (Koča na Gozdu) are open almost all the winter, or at least at weekends.
Kranjska Gora has a lot of B&Bs and hotels, just like Bovec and the surroundings of the Logarska Valley. The prices are usually up to 20 euro per night per person for bed and breakfast in private rooms, and approximately half the price in mountain huts. 

Emergencies:
Mountain rescue service (GRS) responds fast. Call 112. It is a good option to have some sort of international insurance coverage.
